Course Description
This course aims at developing teachers’ fluency and accuracy in the English language. It also takes a multidisciplinary approach to understand CLIL (Content and Language Integrated Learning) methodology and introduces participants to how the theory can relate to their own classroom practice. Includes CLIL lesson planning, resources, and the creation of materials.
The Intensive English Course and CLIL address teachers of all subjects who would like to refresh and broaden their skills in the English language, implement CLIL methodology in their classes, understand its principles and applications, and find resources and lesson materials.
By the end of the course, participants will feel more confident in speaking and writing in English. They will have also learned the key principle of CLIL lesson planning, material development, and the integration of content and language teaching.

Die Kurszeit wurde nicht produktiv genutzt und der inhaltlichen Auseinandersetzung mit dem Thema fehlte es an Tiefe. Die Durchführung war im Allgemeinen qualitativ nicht ausreichend: Die Technik im Raum funktionierte nicht, der Raum war nicht durchgehend für unseren Kurs gebucht, ...

Der Kurs war gut organisiert, sehr informativ. Eine gute Mischung aus Fachwissen (CLIL) und Austausch mit KollegInnen aus anderen EU-Ländern. Die Kursleiterin sehr freundlich, hilfsbereit und gut strukturiert. Super sympathisch auch, dass immer wieder Aspekte der irischen Kultur eingeflossen sind und dititale Tools, die man als Lehrkraft für den Unterricht heutzutage braucht, ganz selbstverständliche kursbegleitend angewendet worden sind. Der Besuch des E.P.I.C Museums sehenswert! Insgesamt eine sehr informative und schöne Erfahrung. Definitiv weiterzuempfehlen!

The course focused on CLIL and was adapated to the different age-groups and oriented to the subjects taught by the participants. Apropriate theoretical framework was introduced prior to working on skill development and devising activities. The course has been insightful and engaging.

My course was about CLIL. We learnt the main characteristics of this methodology. The teacher gave us a lot of examples on how to apply CLIL to our lessons and above all, she encouraged us to investigate to change the way lessons are usually given (many times memorising concepts), to a way that we develop the highest Bloom's skills in our students. The course was given in a school with the required facilities for the correct development of this.

The course Intensive English Language and CLIL for teachers aims at developing teachers’ fluency and accuracy in the English language. The participants will improve their English language proficiency and they will become more comfortable with teaching their courses in English to non-native speakers of English. They will learn techniques and skills for teaching their academic content in English and become better equipped to incorporate activities that involve the four basic skills (reading, writing, listening and speaking) into their classrooms. They will gain new ideas and approaches for assessing learners, correcting errors and including more pair and group work.
