Course Description
Art related activities are powerful means of personal development, among young students and across their life span. Art has a strong therapeutic power and is strictly connected to our body: art activities can influence blood pressure and breathing. Art also promotes self-esteem and self-expression, empathy, self-knowledge and self-regulation, time and space management skills.
Art facilitates mental and emotional growth. As a matter of fact, it can be a great tool to promote integration and communication among students, especially the ones affected by autism, attention deficit disorders, learning disabilities etc.
The course aims to present the therapeutic power of Visual Arts through first-hand experimentation of various art techniques such as painting, 3D, collage, mixed media, photography. In addition, teachers will be involved in group and role-playing activities related to the important role of art in the case of students with special needs.
We will not delve fully into the real therapeutic context, but we will definitely create a secure environment where you can experiment the therapeutic power of art and learn how to properly respond to your students needs and requests.
Participants will be involved in an active learning process, focusing on personal experience and self-expression, combining cognitive and emotional elements to ensure long-lasting retention of new knowledge.

The training experience was exceptional in all aspects despite the inevitable concerns due to Covid-19. The European Academy of Creativity organized a course that allowed all participants to achieve the planned objectives regardless of the level of linguistic competence in English, thanks to the great professionalism of the trainer Marta Mandolini and the network of contacts that the academy has built in Barcelona. I very much appreciated the operational setting that was given to the training that will allow me to spend immediately what I learned in class with my pupils.

Drama tecniques to foster collaboration and self expression. Emotions and colours, intuitive paintings. Mindful tecniques. Visual thinking strategies in practice. Art as therapy in inclusive classrooms. I also experienced an organized visit to Gracia, an area in Barcelona and to the MNAC ( National museum of Catalunya) My exprience was definitely positive both with the teacher trainer and the course and the course provider

The course was about art therapy in education and covered a variety of topics. The content was well organized and focused on practical situations while providing a theoretical framework. The instructor, Marta Mandolini, was highly competent, open to feedback and supportive. Shortly after the course, she sent an email containing the bibliography, a list of websites and a YouTube playlist created for the course, which I found extremely useful.

Bilo je to vrlo zanimljivo iskustvo, obzirom da smo kolegica i ja bile jedine sudionice tečaja te smo imale zaista privatnu poduku. Svi materijali su bili prilagođeni nama i našim potrebama. Profesorica se osim engleskog jezika služila i talijanskim jezikom. Tečaj je bio kreativan, inspirativan, zanimljiv i zabavan. Poslije svakog dana aktivnog sudjelovanja na radionicama osijećala sam se bolje i ispunjenije.
