This course has been created for teachers who want to learn more about managing an effective and up to date classroom that encourages participation and engaged learning using the latest techniques and classroom tools.
Teachers will learn more about managing a classroom through reflection, teacher observation, and case scenarios, which encourage discussion and resolution of the most common classroom problems.
Through interactive and engaging activities course participants will share classroom strategies, learn how to establish classroom rules, provide clear instructions, monitor, develop rapport, incorporate pair and group work, and gain tips for encouraging students to reflect on their own classroom behavior.
In addition, the course will include discussion on what exactly a Flipped Classroom is and how this new teaching methodology can be organized, prepared, and put to use with the subject being taught. Finally, assessment and evaluation, which is also part of managing an effective classroom, will be addressed along with the incorporation of student portfolios, rubrics, and presentation strategies.
By the end of the course, students will have gained greater insight into what makes a classroom run smoothly and what it takes to “Flip” their own classrooms. They will also become more familiar with Project Based Learning and take away ideas for evaluating student learning and participation effectively.

The course was developed in five days from 9 to 2 o`clock with 6 participants: a Croatian, two Estonians, an Italian, a German and a Spanish. Very kind and empathic people. Although a very small group. Perhaps my expectations with the course of Classroom Management in Teacher Academy Ireland were to high. I had three main objectives when attending the course: 1. Learn concrete activities, resources about the topic to apply them in my school. 2. Improve my English and visit Dublin. 3. Meet people from different European countries and learn about their experiences. I must say that the two last ones were acheived sucessfully but not the first one. The reasons are the follwing: a)The teacher didn´t have clear programming lessons, everything seem to me like non-prepared and led to improvisation. b)Nobody gave us concrete resourses to implement later on in our class in my case of Primary Education. c) We had a lot time to reflect about our teaching process. Reflection was a task quited used in the course as well as knowing each other while doing a walking talking, something I consider interesting but not for everything. d) I was really interested in learning more about flipped- classroom and PBL Proyect- Based Learing, however they didn´t cover my expectations. e) Up to the last day I asked for a computer and there were no available; the means of the school were nor adeccuate (the teacher didn´t even have a suitable computer to connect with the projector in the classroom; thanks to my Croatian colleague who was always there to help!) I feel a bit sorry and as I have said before perhaps my expectations were to high but after reflecting I would not recommend this course in this academy.
