Course Description
Italy’s Educational System has been subjected to several reforms over time. Compulsory education was introduced in Italy in 1860, by the Casati law. Today, compulsory school lasts ten years, children start primary school at the age of six, ending at the age of sixteen. Italian graduated students usually receive their degrees at the age of 25.
During this course, you will have the chance to get to know the Italian educational system in detail. You will visit schools and institutes in Italy, you will watch teacher’s lessons and there will be discussion with headmasters, teachers and students about school life and the Italian educational system. There may be possibilities to make connections between principals and participants during the school visits to initiate future Erasmus+ projects. In addition, we will provide you with lectures and workshops to prepare for the visit, focussing on the Italian educational system, culture and history.
