JOB SHADOWING - VARDE WELCOMES YOU
Job-Shadowing / Guest teachers.
Varde Kommune is a municipality on the west coast of Denmark with 51.000 inhabitant and 16 schools (primary and secondary level - pupils age 5 to 15 years old). It is surrounded by amazing nature and cultural heritage; the Wadden Sea.
If you have received an Erasmus+ KA1 grant - we invite you to visit Varde (max 4 teachers from a foreign school/education) and stay for 1 week at one of our schools. We will issue a "certificate of attendance" for you by the end of your stay. All other paperwork you will have to sort out yourself.
Schools in Varde are very interested in international relations and contacts. Thus, we want to invite teachers, pedagogues and student teachers from all over the world into our schools. Our aim is to provide pupils in Varde with intercultural skills. By meeting other ways of living, having genuine conversations in a foreign language and experiencing different cultures we can encourage the pupils’ international vision.
Varde has been part of an Erasmus+ project and several teachers have joined the eTwinning community. The department of education has founded a network for the international coordinators, who represent Varde’s 16 schools. The coordinators are engaged in implementing the international dimension and very interested in “inviting the world into the schools of Varde”.
We expect that you speak either English or German, that you make your own travel arrangements (we will provide you with a list of facts; airports, hotels, currency etc.) and that you – during your stay – make a presentation about your school, culture, country to our pupils.
App. 2 weeks before your arrival your contact-school will provide you with a schedule/program.
