This was my first Erasmus experience and I have found it extremely fruitful and engaging. In the beginning, weintroducedourselves to our European partners. We got acquainted with teachers from all over Europe and their hometowns, their culture and educational systems. Most of them were teachers for children with special needs since the theme of this course was the challenge of inclusion. Over the next days we were introduced to the Portuguese educational system, which is inclusive oriented. Children with special or learning difficulties stay in their neighborhoodschools, and only a few schools for children with special needs exist. Nonetheless, we visited the school for deaf and blind children, as well as some very modern mainstream schools. More specifically, the elementary school of the Agrupamento de Escolas da Boa Águain Quinta do Conde implements all its learning activities with the project based methodology. Peer learning and group activities prevail in the right sense to include all children despite their learning level. Moreover, these good practices take advantage of children’s differentiation. I was very much impressed by the director ofthisschool because he uses modern theoriesto the benefit of his pupils. He uses some innovative methods which are not allowed in most educational systems (more conservative ones). The theoretical lessons of the course were about teaching children with attention deficit, hyperactivity disorder, autism, blindness and deafness, ICT for students with special needs, learningdisabilities, dyslexia, and cerebral palsy. Although the programme was tiring because of the intensive lecturing and multitude of activities, it was very interesting overall. It was well organized and comprised a sufficient and well-balanced number of theoretical presentations and on-site visits, and gave us the opportunity to discuss and exchange experiences with other students as well.

Obiski inštitucij so bili premišljeno izbrani. Pogrešala sem le več konkretne opazovalne prakse v učilnici.

Zelo bogata in zanimiva izkušnja. Velko teoretičnega znanja. Obisk različnih vzgojnih ustanov na Portugalskem. Spoznavanje z njihovo kulturno in naravno dediščino. Zelo dobra in pozitivno naravnana družba. Vsi zelo prijazni in ustrežljivi z dobrim znanjem angleščine. Vodene aktivnosti skozi cel dan. Možnost tudi samostojnih ogledov mesta Lizbone in njenih zanimivosti.
