What was this webinar about?

In the first part of the webinar, you will be introduced to the 2020 OECD publication “What Students Learn Matters”, which presents comprehensive and comparative curriculum analyses that were conducted with a wide range of stakeholders, including students.

The second presentation will showcase the Erasmus+ project STEAME (Science-Technology-Education-Arts-Mathematics-Entrepreneurship). The presentation will give hands-on, ready and accessible solutions for how teachers can run STEAME learning activities within their school curriculum for students aged 10-18.

Prof. Gregoris A. Makrides holds a Ph.D. in Applied Mathematics from the IIT-Illinois Institute of Technology in Chicago, USA. He has been teaching Mathematics since 1986. Gregoris has been coordinating 17 European projects since 2002, and has been a partner in more than 40. Among other associations, Gregoris is President of the European Association of ERASMUS Coordinators, and the European Association of Career Guidance. He is currently active in the Evolution of Education, supporting related developments, as well as in STEAME education for the schools of the future.

Alena Frid is an Analyst in OECD’s Education and Skills Directorate, working on the Future of Education and Skills 2030 project since January 2020. Prior to this, she has worked for five years in the OECD Global Relations Secretariat/Eurasia Division on several projects supporting Governments in the EU Eastern Partner Countries to develop national strategies and policies on a wide range of policy areas, including private sector & small and medium-sized enterprise development, social entrepreneurship, and education.
