2021 webinar series on Early Childhood Education and Care in Europe
A series of webinars will take place in the spring and autumn 2021, including more on inclusion and professionalisation of the sector. Links will be added to the events listed below when they become available. You can follow live or watch the recording afterwards. No registration is needed.
On 3 March, European Commissioner for Innovation, Research, Culture, Education and Youth, Mariya Gabriel, presented the European toolkit for inclusive early childhood education and care (ECEC) as well as guidance to improve the recruitment, training and motivation of professionals in the sector. This was followed by a live panel discussion that is still available to view on the Commission’s web-streaming service.
27 April 2021: How to make ECEC available, accessible and affordable
This webinar will discuss the EU commitment to support access to quality ECEC as well as concrete ideas to implement effective access to ECEC in Europe.
20 May 2021: How to support the initial training of ECEC staff
This webinar will discuss how to concretely support ECEC staff in their initial training and share examples from across Europe.
10 June 2021: Going beyond the ECEC setting: how to work with families and the whole community
This webinar will present concrete ideas to work with families to support inclusion and discuss the integrated approach when working with the whole community.
13 September 2021: How to reinforce the Continued Professional Development (CPD) of ECEC staff
This webinar will discuss the importance of CPD for ECEC staff and share concrete examples of the many ways to provide such opportunities from across Europe.
15 October 2021: Early childhood education and care in Europe: welcoming children with disabilities, and children with a migrant background
This webinar will share concrete ideas for ECEC settings to include all children in ECEC settings and answer their specific needs, for example, in terms of (dis)abilities, cultural or linguistic backgrounds. The webinar will begin at 14.00.
