Summary
School coaching as a field and as a process can play a key role in the social-emotional learning of young people. The term ‘school coaching’ or ‘coaching in education’ has been used loosely with a generally accepted definition as yet to be agreed on. School coaching has been defined as a “one-to-one conversation focused on the enhancement of learning and development through increasing self-awareness and a sense of personal responsibility where the coach facilitates the self-directed learning of the coachee through questioning, active listening and appropriate challenge in a supportive and encouraging climate”.
Teacher coaching in schools takes various forms, but is commonly conceived as a means of providing personalized professional support to teachers through discussion about their practice. Coaching takes time to organise and facilitate within any organisation, and as time is precious in all schools it is important that coaching, where used, works to maximum effect.
- Purpose
This course intends to contribute to school coaching. It aims to provide the trainees with the key skills of coaching and give them a clear insight and understanding into the dynamics
that happen between people. Its main purpose is to create the pedagogy that delivers deep learning, fosters resilience and creates reflective and independent learners with the help of coaching in the classroom.

Day 6
✓ Creating a coaching classroom some practical tips and ideas
✓ Reflecting on specific classroom situations and weaving coaching
solutions that will ensure positive actions are taken, learning takes place and the self-esteem of pupils is raised
✓ Time to practise coaching in triads using a coaching model to decide on
✓ next steps in developing a coaching culture in the classroom

V rámci absolvovania kurzu s názvom "Coaching in the clasroom", ktoré sa konalo pod záštitou Oloklirosi lifelong learning center v Heraklione na Kréte som sa formou realizácie konkrétnych vzdelávacích aktivít oboznámila s novými metódami zameranými na empatiu, aktívne počúvanie, rozvoj sebamotivácie, sebaregulácie a sociálneho povedomia. Lektori, ktorí nás prevádzali kurzom deň za dňom boli adekvátne kvalifikovaní, profesionálni a efektívni, rovnako ako poskytovatelia a organizátori kurzu. Jednotlivé vzdelávacie bloky boli zmysluplne a efektívne plánované, organizované a zrealizované. Vytváraním špecifických situácií v triedach sme si osvojili rôzne metódy ako lepšie motivovať žiakov, ako budovať pozitívnu klímu v triede a ako spoznať a vhodne rozvíjať emocionálnu inteligenciu v triede. Vzdelávanie v rámci tohto projektu, ktoré bolo tvorené sčasti reflektovaním vlastných zážitkov hodnotím ako veľmi inšpirujúce a obohacujúce, a to hlavne v oblasti skvalitnenia jazykových zručností. Za najväčší prínos však považujem možnosť získať a porovnať si vedomosti, skúsenosti pri riešení rôznych problémov z oblasti vzdelávania s pedagógmi z rôznych krajín.
