Outcomes of training week:
During the course week participants will learn how to activate pupils or students every kind of school subjects with games and gaming.

During a course week participants will learn how to build example escape room game for primary/secondary pupils and how to make gps based outdoor games.

Also flipped learning as a new pedagogy is part of this course.

Participants can also develope their professional English skills and learn and get ideas from each others. They will also get new collegues from all over the Europe and they can start to think example new projects.

Target group: kindergarten, primary or every kind of secondary teachers, like language teachers, science teachers, history teachers, arts teachers etc., headteachers/principals, teacher-trainers, councilors/elected members, special teachers, vocational teachers, experts, politicians or other stake holders

Themes of education week:
- Escape room pedagogy
- GPS based outdoor games
- Gaming and gamification - How we understand it? How to motivate new generations to study by gaming?
- Flipped learning
- Sharing curricula and gaming pedagogy of participants
- Finnish education system and curriculum
- Curriculum development and gaming as a part of it
- Gaming technology (iPads, mobile phones, gps softwares etc.), virtual reality, artificial intelligence and 3D

Course fee: 420€/participant. Course fee does not include meals or accomodation. Course fee must be paid four weeks before course start to bank account or with later instructions.

Certificates: Course certificate, Europass mobility document

City of Joensuu locates 450 km North-East from Helsinki. You can reach Joensuu every day by airplane (JOE), train or by bus from Helsinki.

Next closing date for Erasmus+ applications is 23rd February 2022 (project starting earliest June 2022), and teachers will need the application of their Headteacher in doing this.

Schedule of five days:
DAY 1 15:00-21:00: Welcome to Finland. Agenda of course week. Finnish education system, City of of Joensuu. Ice breakers, participant presentations. Going around in Finnish schools.

DAY 2 10.00-17:00: Modern technology in education. Gaming. Gaming workshops and lectures about differrent themes with Finnish teachers. 19:00 Evening with lake Saimaa, trying Finnish outdoor activities. Barbeque and sauna.
DAY 3: 10:00-17:00 Gamification and useful softwares inside or outside classrooms. Lectures and workshops.
DAY 4: 9:00-16:00 Outdoor learning at KOLI national park. How schools can use their natural heretage as pedagogical material. Small hike with outdoor gaming and presentation of KOLI. Last evening together
DAY 5: 10:00-13:00 Conclusions of the course, workshop, certificates and farewell.
