July 22nd – July 26th 2019
17.5 classroom hours per week
This course is taught by Chris Roland who has a huge amount of experience teaching teenagers, mainly in Spain, and has done training for the British council as well as running workshops with teachers in a number of other countries. Highly recommended.
There will be a number of optional cultural and social visits throughout the week including a visit on the final Saturday when there will be no teaching. Several of these events will be free but there may be some additional costs for some such as theatre tickets.
This is a course designed especially for teachers of teenagers. We shall look at everything from planning lessons right through to exams, reports and even talking to parents. Throughout the course we will focus on breaking down what happens in our classrooms and managing that better in terms of dynamics, behaviour, productivity and learning. On the one hand we shall look at small adjustments to improve activities and on the other a range of more adventurous innovations that take our practice forward and stretch us as developing professionals. Participants will walk away with an arsenal of techniques and strategies that puts their teaching of teenagers in a stronger, healthier and more rewarding place than before. Minimum language level of B2-C1
After this course, you will:
● be able to plan classes and design activities more effectively
● be able to accommodate your own emotions during lessons
