Course Description

Long heralded as key competences for 21st century learners, the ”Four Cs” (Creativity, Critical Thinking, Communication and Cllaboration) are often embraced in theory yet stump educators in practice. Creativity and Critical Thinking represent inseparable attitudes and abilities for innovation which, contrary to popular belief, CAN be learned, taught and implemented in any classroom.

Communication and Collaboration are fundamental life skills that students can draw from in their everyday experiences at school and shape their ability to live, connect with others and work well in their future. The “Four Cs” strengthen our learners’ ability to find their place – professionally, personally, socially - in today’s fast changing world, while fostering other life-enhancing Cs: curiosity, confidence, caring and cooperation.

This course aims to provide teachers with the knowledge, the know-how and the confidence to incorporate these stimulating skills into their curriculum and school environment. In a true learn-by-doing environment, course participants will gain greater knowledge about what these competences entail and not only how to teach them, but first and foremost how to tap into their own ability to create, to think critically, to communicate effectively and to collaborate well with others.

Participating in this Erasmus program abroad, I had an unforgettable experience that will be decisive in my educational development. The seminar was very well organized and the creation of a climate of cooperation between us, excited me, encouraged me and finally led all participants to create new proposals, utilizing existing knowledge. In a very friendly atmosphere, we saw new techniques of practical interest, immediately applicable to teaching. I was also won over by the scientific competence of our trainer, Eric Agudelo, which was transmitted in a constructive way, as well as his constant support in the work we carried out.

This course has been created for teachers who would like to a step forward in their teaching practice to reach each and every one of their students and to ensure the success of the learning process through creativity, critical thinking, communication and collaboration. With that aim I came to the course. Each day of the course was one step closer to achieving those aims of a course. I learned some new techniques and activities of communication, creativity, critical thinking and cooperation with which I will improve my work and implemented in my classroom. I have heard of some of them before or used them, but I am now safer and I will find new ways to bring them closer to my students, but also to introduce my colleagues to them. The course provider and treiner did everything to make us feel welcome and to we learn as much as possible. They encouraged us to cooperate all the time, encouraged us to use English lenguage that we do not use otherwise Tthey encouraged us to connect more with each other in order to achieve some future collaborations on projects. They made sure we got to know Ireland and Dublin better.
