The 4Cs: Creativity, Critical Thinking, Communication and Collaboration in Schools - Dublin

Rating: 5/55 users

Long heralded as key competences for 21st century learners, the ”Four Cs” (Creativity, Critical Thinking, Communication and Cllaboration) are often embraced in theory yet stump educators in practice. Creativity and Critical Thinking represent inseparable attitudes and abilities for innovation which, contrary to popular belief, CAN be learned, taught and implemented in any classroom.

Communication and Collaboration are fundamental life skills that students can draw from in their everyday experiences at school and shape their ability to live, connect with others and work well in their future. The “Four Cs” strengthen our learners’ ability to find their place – professionally, personally, socially - in today’s fast changing world, while fostering other life-enhancing Cs: curiosity, confidence, caring and cooperation.

This course aims to provide teachers with the knowledge, the know-how and the confidence to incorporate these stimulating skills into their curriculum and school environment. In a true learn-by-doing environment, course participants will gain greater knowledge about what these competences entail and not only how to teach them, but first and foremost how to tap into their own ability to create, to think critically, to communicate effectively and to collaborate well with others.

Detailed Learning Outcomes:

- to gain a clear understanding of the creative process and experience it first-hand
- to think critically and get the most out of today's information overload
- to experience more effective communication abilities and techniques
- to broaden collaborative opportunities in the classroom and encourage it in all aspects of the school community
- to live a true international team building experience

Cultural Activities Included: All our courses in Dublin include a City Walking Tour and a 1 day Irish Excursion (usually on Saturday).

Kurs spełnił moje oczekiwania. Prowadzący w sposób kompetentny, ciekawy i przystępny przekazywał treści dotyczące kreatywności, krytycznego myślenia, komunikacji i współpracy w szkole. Ponadto uczestnicy zostali zaangażowani w szereg ciekawych i twórczych ćwiczeń. Wróciłam z bankiem gotowych pomysłów na ciekawe lekcje. Na pewno wiele z nich wykorzystam w swojej pracy! Polecam.

The course in Dublin has been really good and very productive. The teacher was fantastic, always open to new ideas and eager to help, offering new resources. I have learnt new techniques to be put into practice and have met teachers from other countries. I strongly recommend this course because it has fulfilled my expectations. I would probably suggest developing a new edition of the course in two weeks time in the future, just to deepen into the development of the 4C´s.

Thanks to extraordinary trainer Carolina Castro Huercano, the seminar was performed beyond my expectations. She created a great highly active atmosphere in the group and she shared with us her very own professional experiences. I came home even more motivated than I went to Dublin - Well prepared for all new challenges. :)
