The legacy of the Knights Hospitallers

Rating: 0/5

The Order of the Hospitallers of St. John of Jerusalem was one of the first Crusading orders. The Knights fought the armies of Islam and the Ottoman Turks on land and sea as they campaigned across the Holy Land and into the Mediterranean. In 1530, they had made the Island of Malta their headquarters until Napoleon’s landing in 1798.
