Soft Skills for Strong Teachers - Dublin

Rating: 5/57 users

Hard skills, also known as academic knowledge and know-how, are often the direct focus of education and the skills considered necessary to get your foot in the door of many fields of employment. Soft skills, however, are the interpersonal and intrapersonal abilities that not only help you keep that job and advance in your career – they help you live better in every aspect of your life.

During this course, educators will deepen their understanding of Soft Skills and reflect on their own abilities in its macro-areas such as Leadership, Relational Skills, Self-Awareness, Creativity, Problem-Solving and Communication. Through hands-on activities that combine these skills, participants will learn to transform the prevailing theories of communication and emotional and social intelligence into practical experiences in their classroom. While Soft Skills are sometimes conveyed in the curriculum through special projects and after-school activities, this course proposes ways to incorporate them into every facet of the school day.

Learning Outcomes

The participants will have the opportunity to:

· Improve and facilitate communication and active listening;

· Reflect upon motivation and how to foster it;

· Gain insight into the principles of leadership and collaboration;

· Boost creativity and problem-solving skills;

· Focus on emotional awareness to improve public speaking, organization, time management

· Practice relaxation methods and tips for creating a better work-life balance.

The trainer was well-prepaired and professional, but the time was not enough to cover all the topics planned, some of them were just left out. The focus was on communication and creativity but for me it would have been interesting to learn more about positive psychology and stress management. The city tour was good and I really enjoyed the 1 day excursion on Saturday. As a whole it was a worthy course, nice location, I can recommend it.

The course was well thought out, but at the end I think that there were just too many topics they wanted to address, so everything was covered superficially. For someone who hears about this for the first time I think it is a great course, but my expectations as a psychologist were much higher and they weren't completely met. The course provider and the teacher were very professional, communication with them was flawless - both before, during and after the course. City tour and 1 day Ireland excursion are a great add to the course.

An excellent seminar that lived up to my expectation 100%. The teacher was very professional and totally efficient. I strongly recomment the course to teachers that teach in either primary or secondary education. Last but not least, the 1 day excursion in Ireland was amazing.

I attended to this course and I found it really interesting. As the number of attendants is small, it allows you to get fully involved in all the exercises the teacher ask us and a fully understanding of the subjects taught. The city tour was really funny and the guide explained us a lot of interesting things about the country as well as the city. I strongly recommend this course. Lorena Pérez from Spain

Hello! The course was very interesting. The content was up-to-date and interesting. Work was dynamic. A guided tour of the city was very instructive and fun at the same time. The whole day tour of the Irish country was very well organized and guided. I highly recommend to all teachers! Irena from Slovenia
