>> Aim: The training course Developing soft skills is dealing with methodologies and learning activities for the development of soft skills at school.
The learning content of the course is party based on the European project “New Teachers for New Competences” (Leonardo da Vinci, 2011-2013) and it has been extended to cover the most important soft skills required in personal, social and business life.

>>Learning Outcomes: Upon completion of the training course, you are expected to be able to:
- cultivate to their students, personal competences, in a systematic, methodical and structured manner,
- encourage teamwork and cooperation in the classroom, allowing their students to develop the values of cooperation, motivation, reliability and acceptance of opinions, rules and roles,
- demonstrate the importance of time, understand the fundamentals of time management and support their students in time management and coping with stressful situations.

>>Methodology and learning material: The preparation phase includes a learning needs analysis that is being conducted with a standardised questionnaire.
The course instruction applies active learning techniques, such as: case studies, activities in small groups and experiential activities. Some of the activities are implemented in the classroom with the participants acting as “students”, therefore they have the chance to reflect on them. During the course, the participants are exchanging their own experience from their schools and they develop, and exchange new learning activities for the development of the different skills. The participants reflect on their learning at a daily basis. At the end of the course, the participants leave with their own portfolio of learning activities, for the development of soft skills.
The learning material consists of presentations and support material, leaflets and flashcards, in English language.
As a follow up, the participants are invited to join our Facebook group and network with other participants of IDEC courses. The participants of the Facebook group are exchanging ideas and practices regularly and often are asked to join new European projects, based on their interests. IDEC staff will provide all necessary support to facilitate your entry into new European project proposals.

>> Why selecting this course?
In a constantly changing world, where we teach our students for jobs that do not exist yet, the most important skills that one can have are the so-called Soft Skills. Soft skills are becoming more important than specific technical skills and can determine the future of a young person. The ability to cope with changer, setting and pursuit goals, self-esteem and personal motivation, the ability to motivate others and work in teams are skills absolutely necessary for life and work. The importance of the soft skills is highlighted by policy makers, employers and educators.
The course Developing soft skills tackles a number of personal skills, team working and time management skills. It consists of self-contained sessions, in which the instructor presents some theories and then focuses on practical activities. The participants are experiencing themselves learning activities for the development of soft skills and they are also developing new activities for their own classrooms and needs of their students.
The course organiser, IDEC is an organization with great experience in European projects, having participated in more than 300 European projects and has cooperated with more than 700 organisations from all over Europe, since the 90s. By joining this course, you will be supported in placing your organisation into the framework of European projects, joining the Facebook group and networking with other course participants.
Last but not least, IDEC will provide to you an unforgettable experience in Greece, with a well-designed cultural programme. You will have the chance to experience the Greek culture, hospitality, gastronomy and social life and spend precious moments with your fellow participants.
