CLIL-Methodology & ICT Tools for Teachers working with CLIL
This course introduces you to the principles of CLIL (Content and Language Integrated Learning) and analyses CLIL teaching techniques, including ways of integrating ICT into a CLIL classroom teaching environment.
During this practical course, online software tools suitable for CLIL, and teaching aids specifically designed for the use of CLIL will be introduced and reviewed.
Our CLIL courses are designed for non-native teachers (in the primary, secondary and vocational sectors) who teach other subjects, such as Geography, Mathematics, Science etc in English. This course is also ideal for those teachers who are about to start using CLIL to teach a subject in English, and would like to use technology as a teaching aid for CLIL in their lessons.
The main aim of this course is to explore the dimensions and approach of CLIL teaching as well as to introduce you to practical online software tools and teaching aids suitable for using CLIL (Content and Language Integrated Learning) in the classroom. This two-week (over 10 training days) course allows you to develop a better understanding of CLIL methodology as well as develop your ICT skills for the CLIL classroom. Topics such as building a CLIL store unit, exploring cognition and what it entails, thinking about scaffolding for learners and other important topics relevant to the CLIL classroom will be presented, reviewed and discussed.
You will have ample opportunity to try out all of these tools as all our courses are designed to be hands-on and practical.
You will be encouraged to take an active role in all sessions, maximising your use of English, and collaborating together with your fellow trainees to create your own resources.
During our group discussions you will have the opportunity to share CLIL activities that you have created as well as to provide feedback to each other.
You will be asked to reflect upon the training received and you will come up with a Personal Development Action Plan, selecting tools and activities you would like to try out in your own classes.

-become better equipped to integrate CLIL principles and methodology in your everyday lessons
-develop a better understanding of ways to integrate ICT into a CLIL classroom teaching environment
-develop your skills in designing dual-purpose learning materials
-be introduced to practical online software tools suitable for CLIL and teaching aids specifically designed for the use of CLIL
-gain the skills to use such applications to create your own teaching materials
-improve your command of English in a multi-cultural context.
Course Fee : Euro 800.00
Programme Fee : Euro 100.00 includes the registration fee, the social programme including two cultural guided tours including a visit to Malta's Capital- Valletta
