Course Description
21st-century education has changed from a teacher-centered to a student-centered paradigm. School teachers must know their students and identify their needs to shape the learning process according to its real context (rather than a universal perspective). Accordingly, students become more involved in the learning process and develop an enthusiasm for it.
As a participant in the course, you will deepen your understanding of multiple intelligences, and learn to distinguish your students according to their personality type and learning modality. Therefore, you will also be able to adapt your lessons effectively to the learning style of your students.
The course will help participants find practical solutions by introducing key elements of student-centered learning in their teaching.
Moreover, the course will make participants practice several strategies to stimulate students’ curiosity and creativity by engaging them in project-based or game-based learning activities, by designing video-based lesson plans, or still moving the lesson outside of the classroom.
Finally, participants will visit a local school that profited from all the lessons proposed in the course. Thus, they will have the chance to touch with hand how schools are already applying the 21-century student-centered approach, and discuss this with colleagues from other countries.
