Europe between Mythology, Modernity and Multiculturalism - HERAKLION
The aim of the course is to offer teaching innovative and creative tools to spread and share them to the local communities in order to facilitate the inclusion process of pupils and adults. Another point is the one to let everyone know about the myths of Europe and the ancient history of Europe. The myth of Europe, feminine figure from which the West lands took their name, reminds us that people have always transmigrate and that those migrations took important cultural and social innovations. In the last years, we saw a migratory process that mixed the boards of the territories. We haven’t seen yet a European cultural identity be real, integrating all the different cultural and social aspect that made Europe a Multicultural place, in this sense the European myth gains a bigger importance.
Literature, visual arts and sciences, in fact, could interpret and transmit a set of principles shared from all around the Europe.
The training starts with a focus on the Myth of Europe, an analysis of Myth in the history, in arts and its pedagogical values and uses. Europe is a traveller who is not afraid to leave all behind and move to East and West, to discover new worlds. This project justifies the use of this neologism: research-action-interaction-training. The research is about knowledge progression and provides the use of methodological tools as the mythological, iconographic, artistic and literary interpretation of the Myth of Europe, through the systematic collection and analysis of data and works.
The action-innovation brings to a renovation of the educational and training practices with the aim to offer to the participants innovative and interdisciplinary approaches that link lectures with non-formal activities, stimulating participation and creativity in these new didactic paths.
Sharing of experience in the field of work with diversity in school. Analysis of needs and resources of each institution and country, to get inspiration and create new collaboration among teachers in Europe. The training part creates a place to reflect and share where participants will contribute actively to the creation of new educational practices, using multimedia and interactive techniques.
Design of new places in which to express the active citizenship, as the plural and pluralist notion at the base of the intercultural life, opening new horizons and new ways to practice a local, national, European and International level, the participatory democracy process.
We will use of a set of tools created to stimulate new didactical approaches to work with diversity in the class, tools that will help to use diversity to facilitate the process of inclusion of the foreign students and those with learning disabilities. This set of tools focus the activities in 3 different fields: Multiculturalism, Learning Variability, and Linguistic Diversity.
After the trying of some tools in each field, participants (mixed in international groups) will create their own tools guided by our trainers using a designed template that will facilitate the process. Particular attention will be given to those activities related to civic education, in order to give to students the right tools to grow up as responsbile and active citizens.
The training aims to give to teachers and trainers a set of notion and tools useful to facilitate the inclusion process of the learners, in the different countries and schools, always taking in consideration the different contexts and situation that every teacher face in his daily job.
The follow-up of the training will be proposed to the trainees in the following way:
- Design during the stage of network projects;
- Follow up of implementation of the projects in the schools through the website;
- Mutualisation of the educational approach: sending of documentation (texts, educational sheets, exhibition, photographs, videos) with the use of collaboration through the website (blog, collective production of knowledge, auto-evaluation of the course);
- Networking of the works (in order to elaborate new projects Erasmus +).
The training will alternate session of classes with cultural visits and workshops in the land where the Europe is born.
