Course 1: Approaching Learning Difficulties in a school community environment: Teaching children how to learn in Mixed Ability Classes
In our Internet dominated 21st-century multicultural society, academic success is increasingly dependent on students’ ability to plan their time, organize, prioritize, distinguish main ideas from details, monitor their own progress and reflect on their work.
This course provides teachers with practical suggestions for scaffolding the teaching of selected educational, metacognitive strategies in a mixed ability as well as multicultural classroom. School-based instruction should not only emphasize on the content, or what, of learning but on the process, or how, as well. Meet colleagues from different countries and be encouraged to create an inclusive, active and open educational environment where children are taught how to learn according to their individual needs and learning styles.
