• self and group assessment and evaluation.

PREPARATION
After the confirmation and before starting, we check the previous knowledge and experience of participants, as well as their specific needs related to the topics of our training course. In addition, we will provide some documents and learning contents of our “Library of Methods & Tools” in order to start getting involved in topics and subjects that will be taught.

FOLLOW UP

The course plan looked excellent but many of the topics on the course plan were not implemented (e.g. Laboratory of Cooking/tasting and visit to vineyard and food company). Also, the course certificate was not given at the end of the course and we had some trouble with email communication. It would have been nice if the meals had been more diverse and the planning had been done together to adjust the course to the skill level of the participant. Also, the main content of the course (Unesco mediterranean diet) was not explored in detail. If you are a home economics teacher you will probably not learn new skills. I was the only participant in the course, and if there had been more people, there would of course have been the possibility to network etc. The positive things about the course are that sharing the meals with an actual Italian family was a good experience, and the family was very nice and friendly. It was also very interesting to see a family that is so self-sufficient (making their own wine, sausages etc.) and interested in being environmentally friendly (their own compost and recycling etc.)

Thanks for your feedback, but we do not understand why 1 star only! We cooked for 5 days and you say that the Laboratory of Cooking was not implemented?! As for the food company visit, we already told you that, unfortunately, the bad weather was an obstacle. And when you applied we suggested to come a week earlier, in order to join other participants, but still you decided to come alone on the dates you had already fixed. Sorry, but 1 star is ridiculous and not honest!

The course was exellent. It was more than the program promised. We got to know a lot of history about southern part of Italy and its influence to cusine. We visited in several wineyeards, a farm and food company. We cooked together with other partisipants and we also learned about schoolsystems and cultures in different European countries. We also made new contacts with other european teachers to do cooperation with them in future We used fresh and local grocerys and had a posibility to learn more about them. The course taught the truth about the mediterranean diet. We lived in a small italian village and we had posibility to be a part of its life. The course leader had a good knowledge about cooking, culture and history. The course leader was truly professional. Kirsti Ketola, Marja-Leena Ahonen ( Parolan yhteiskoulu, Hattula)

This training course was super. We cooked so many traditional and tasty dishes and we experienced the real Italian and Mediterranean style: family, sustainable farming, culture, old recipes and excellent food. Finally I realised that some dishes are very similar to our in Portugal, but not the same. I appreciated the great work of the staff and the warm atmosphere of this little village and of the host family. And I am thankful to the organiser because he helped me also with the Europass Mobility, that I received together with the Certificate of Attendance.

Great course! We learned a lot about traditional cooking andMediterranean diet, about lifestyle in the area... the leader was open to answer all questions and made ends meet wherever needed. I flew home with lots of ideas to be used within our European school profile. Thank you very much. I really enjoyed Italy ...meeting all the people within the area and getting in contact with the locals was great.

We were strongly disappointed with this structured course and this is the general view for all the present teachers. First of all, the information on the School Gateway platform and the website for the organization about the structure and contents of the course and the activities done there are not what was delievered there on site. We haven't done almost anything previewed and that is why we started to ask about the specific workshops. When the group attending the course asked about those activities the responsible person managed to do something but without any organization or real purpose. We didn't get any programme at the beginning of the week neither support materials for workshops and visits. The main content of the course (Unesco mediterranean diet) was not explored. There should be a better planning/organization of daily activities, transport and meals. As teacher's we didn't learn any new skills.

Hello Paula, we are very disappointed for your comment, since it is definitely not honest and fair: you did almost two courses in one (5 cooking classes + 4 cultural tours + 2 food company visits) and you say that you did nothing?! In addition, I contacted you several times to kindly remind you to pay the balance (after having given you a discount, without even a thanksgiving) and you didn'reply. Thank you for your honesty!!! N.B. You are invited to pay your balance. Thanks
