Erasmus+: Content and Language Integrated Learning (CLIL) for Educators (IE)
Content and Language Integrated Learning (CLIL) is an innovative approach to language teaching, where students are exposed to foreign language while learning the content of other subjects such as history, geography, science, etc. There are many benefits of using CLIL in the classroom - cultural awareness, internationalization, language competence, preparation for both study and working life and increased motivation – are just a few of it.
CLIL can be used with students of any age, all the way from primary level to university or even adult learning. As long as the course content and language used are designed considering students’ needs and level, everyone can benefit from this teaching approach.
The course aims to introduce participants to Content and Language Integrated Learning (CLIL) principles and techniques and show them how to apply it in practice. During the course, participants will learn about 5Cs principals of CLIL, terminology, integration of four language skills, scaffolding strategies, where to find and how to develop their own materials, assessment and much more.
The course is suitable for all educators that would like to refresh their English language skills and gain practical knowledge and learn how to implement CLIL methodology in their lessons.
By the end of the course, delegates will:
• improve writing, pronunciation and reading skills in English
• Increase awareness of the current trends in CLIL
• learn the key principles of CLIL and techniques
• be able to find existing and develop their own material for CLIL lessons
