Stress Management with outdoor activities - Tenerife

Stress has become an inherent part of a modern life. Exhaustion, absence of happiness, low motivation and productivity are common phenomena nowadays across all fields of life: work, school, or home. Fortunately, there are many ways to reduce one’s level of stress, increase the energy inflow and recharge the batteries.

In this course we will explore the nature of stress as well as stress management techniques e.g. time management, the art of saying “no”, mindfulness, creativity and physical activities. As a result, you will better know yourself, feel and manage your emotions, reduce stress impact and increase your level of happiness in every moment of your life.

The acquired tools and techniques can be further implemented at work with children or colleagues to create healthy routines and build trustful relationships.

This course combines the classroom theory in the morning and practical modules in beautiful outdoor places in the afternoon.

Detailed program of the 1-week training period:

The classes are scheduled from Monday to Friday from 9 AM till 3 PM. This means that you will still have a lot of time to discover Tenerife after our intensive training.
The course is held in English.

Day 1:

- Welcome speech
- Introduction and course overview
- Individual expectations and goals
- Breakfast in the FU café
- “What is stress?” Definition and types
- Analyzing your capacities
- Outdoor activity: practicing physical relaxation techniques


Day 2:

- Reaction to stress and stress models: Transactional, Fight-or-Flight response and G.A.S.
- Symptoms of stress
- Assessing your personal stress triggers: stress diary and stress scale
- Building a supportive network in the workplace
- Getting enough exercise and sleep
- Exploring Mindfulness
- Outdoor activity: mindful walking through Puerto de la Cruz.

Day 3:

- Mastering time management
- Managing your boundaries
- Learning to be assertive
- Saying "Yes" to the person, "No" to the task
- Outdoor activity: healthy picnic and discussion on nutrition

Day 4:

- Conflict Resolution
- Managing negative emotions at work
- Dealing with difficult people
- Developing positive thinking
- ABC technique
- Affirmations
- Visualization and Imagery
- Creativity workshop: to be determined

Day 5:

- Outdoor activity: Pilates on the beach – a workout for body and mind
- Increasing well-being in your life
- Analyzing your own successful responses to stress
- Wrap-up of the course
- Diploma awarding

I attended the Stress Management Course in FU International Academy Tenerife. The course was highly beneficial and worthwhile. The course content was very interesting and engaging. We explored a broad range of topics throughout the week. I learned how to identify stress and many stress management techniques that I can put into practice at the workplace and in my personal life. There was a great balance between theory and practical activities in the course. The practical element of the course was very enjoyable, as we got the opportunity to put the theory into practice while exploring the beautiful surroundings of Puerto de la Cruz. The course co-ordinator Olga was fantastic. She is highly knowledgeable and taught the course content very effectively. Overall I enjoyed completing this course, and found it very beneficial in my professional development.

Der Kurs "Stressmanagement" in Teneriffa hat uns viele Möglichkeiten gezeigt, mit Stress umzugehen und zu erfahren, was bei Stress in unserem Körper geschieht. So konnten wir eingefahrene Muster durchbrechen und auch Mediations- und Entspannungsübungen kennenlernen. Leider wurde nicht auf die verschiedenen Sprachniveaus der Kursteilnehmer eingegangen, was den Ablauf des Kurses beeinträchtigt hat.

I could characterize the overall experience from the "Stress Management" course as extremely interesting. Both the structure of the courses and their content were such that it will serve not only our work but our life in general and also it will have a great, I believe, impact on the daily life of the parents of our students and of those who will participate later in the process of diffusion of this knowledge. Stress is something that concerns modern man and proper awareness and self-management can only have positive results both in our daily lives and in the others with whom we converse and interact. This course offered these essential knowledge and skills that will help us manage our stress properly, thus removing us from the risk of a work burn-out. We got to know and got acquainted with those tools so that we can now evaluate where our stress comes from, how it affects us and what we can do about it. The next steps are to assemble our own toolbox that we can integrate into various aspects of our life and create a stress-resistant lifestyle. The rapporteur has been amazing in her work. She was very effective at sharing and spreading her knowledge to the rest of us and she was explanatory and comprehensible, drawing our attention to what she was presenting. The overall organization and processing of the courses was impeccable.

First of all we clarified what is Stress about.Then the provider mentioned in the types of stress.We explored different stress management techniques by course.We learned about the tools to asses,where stress comes out,how it affects us and what we can do about it,so in the next steps we can create a stess resistant lifestyle.I spent a lovely time in the course.All these was so interesting and they can change my every day life.Now i am ready to help my students and their parents to face their stress.Iam in position to present all these techniques to my colleagues and to learn about them
