DREAMS: Fostering Diversity in Primary to Secondary School Transition to Prevent Early School Leaving
DREAMS is a 24-month Erasmus+ strategic partnership composed of three schools and two non-profit organisations that work in tackling early school leaving, particularly in contexts with strong presence of cultural diversity. The project is being implemented in Spain, Italy and Portugal so far.
The project aims to prevent early school leaving by supporting students, teachers, families and school community in assuring a smooth primary to secondary school transition with inclusion of all forms of diversity. The objectives of the programme include research current practices and explore the needs of students in Primary to Secondary school transitions, evaluate and create methodology based on the needs of Process Work and Theatre of the Oppressed, evaluate methodology through pilot workshops and activities in schools and create a Smooth Transition Toolkit based on results.
The project has produced multiple tools for different target audiences such as a best practice report, a handbook for Teachers & Counsellors and a Family booklet, as well as resources and tools for students. The resources are available in English, Spanish, Portuguese and Italian.
