Jyväskylän kristillinen opisto

This is an adult education centre , Folk high school ( Folkhochschule, Folkhögskolan) with 530 oung ( over 17 years of age) and adult students in Middle Finland about 270 km to the north from Helsinki. The age of the the students are between 17-60 years old. The school has various one-school-year study programmes , eg. vocational education, free oriented education ( music, theatre, graphic design etc.) , comprehensive school and integration studies for migrants with formal and non-formal education. The school was founded in 1942 and is owned by a foundation and has a staff of total 55 people including 30 qualified teachers. The modern facilities include modern classrooms and a restaurant. NOTE! We take mainly teachers from other adult education centers for a job shadowing session to our school. So we are able to visit those centers in Europe. We are NOT a city secondary school and do not have those secondary school curricula in our programme. No visitors from primary , lower level classes.
