Gymnasio Gennadiou Rodou (Secondary School of Gennadi Rhodes) is a regional school in Gennadi town, on the island of Rhodes. It is a public school with 300 students and 25 teachers. Our school aims at providing a happy school environment for all students. We try to improve school performance while at the same time development of personal and social skills is equally impoprtant. We work and learn together with everyone involved in student education (authorities, teachers, parents/ guardians) in order to improve school climate. Our school priorities include: · Projects and activities that enrich school curriculum, encourage student motivation and follow different pedagogical approaches. · European projects to support European citizenship. · Digital culture at school adjusting to rapid financial, cultural and technological changes of our time. Located on Rhodes island, a favourite holiday spot, our students are accustomed to meeting foreigners in the summer and they enjoy participating in projects and communicating with students from other countries.

The course includes visits to different types of schools, primary, secondary, vocational, special needs. Interaction with local teachers offers european value to the course. The trainers come from different fields, university, school, academics and they add creative perspectives in educational practices.

The course... Read moreThe course lived up to my expectations from the very first minute, especially concerning the aspect of the integration of the cultural heritage and the development of apps in mobile devices. All the speakers were really knowledgeable about their areas of expertise and, while covering all the aspects of the program of the course, there was a flexibility that I truly appreciated. I particularly would like to mention Ms. Lamprianou´s efforts to be available and do whatever it took to adapt to our needs so that we benefited from our stay as much as possible. Highly recommendable!
As a... Read moreAs a teacher in kindergarten, I was very interested in how to combine technology and culture, how to present history and other subject areas through various digital tools. I am particularly interested in the ancient history of Greece and Rhodes, so I wanted to know more about this and that's why I chose this seven day training course.
To participate in this course has been above expectations, I've learn so much from great team Stella Lamprianou, Erik Bruns, Hannie Palios-van Dijk, Georgios Fessakis. They were really doing their best to give us their digital and history knowledge.
I was impressed by the patience and warmth of Stella Lamprianou, so we could adopt all the lessons from the digital domain. Erik's passion and extensive knowledge in the field of history attracted me that I wanted to know more about it. They were all willing to help in any field we needed it.
I am grateful that I could visit a local kindergarten and have the opportunity to get to know their system of work and kind teachers and children.
Beautiful and educational impressions from historical tours, diverse landscape, beautiful shores, meditative sunsets, delicious food even for vegetarians and friendly people, all this and more, yes it is worth a visit.
Congratulations on a successful course and thank you once again to everyone who contributed to this.

It was... Read moreIt was a great experience on professional and presonal level. I came to this course to learn about new methods and tools in order to make my History class lessons more interesting and aligned with 21st century classroom. I have learnt a lot, from general concepts of how modern technology can stimulate students’ creativity to produce their own stories to how I can use applications and make own digital tools for lessons. So, perfect combination of lessons and workshops, including local secondary school visit and professionally accomplished field trip was really a hat-trick. Rhodes cultural heritage, sun, sea, people and food were an extra bonus! The staff is very professional and they make an efficient and competent team!

The tutors were great, the contents relevant and very interesting. The only downside was that it was too much to absorb and the beautiful surroundings distracted us.Still I managed to learn a lot of things for my classes.
The place- the closest to paradise I've ever been to.Good weather, food and beaches.
Stella Lamprianou and Gigorgios Fessakis verry attentive and responsive to suit everybody's needs.
The course... Read moreThe course is very interesting in that it is led entirely in English, so it's good language practice. Besides, there is a very warm personal attention on the part of every member of the team, especially Ms. Stella Lamprianou, who does her very best to satisfy everybody's needs.
One excellent component of the training course is the fact that it takes place in Rhodes, which is a beautiful island, and the fact that the course implies not only ICT development by the hand of Mr George Fessakis but also cultural awareness of the history of this town and island led by Mr Erik Bruns. Both the ICT teacher and this historian are top class.
The course is of interest to ICT teachers, teachers of English and also of other subjects such as Natural Science, History, etc.
Choosing the 7 day course was an asset. At my language school, back in Barcelona, we strive to base our teaching on ICT resources and consider ourselves a 2.0. school. Nevertheless, I was amazed to see that the syllabus chosen by the professionals at Kios in the course DIGITAL LEARNING USING THE PARADIGM OF THE CULTURAL HERITAGE ENVIRONMENT OF RHODES was fresh, updated, surprising and totally valid for professionals who want to be acquainted with state-of-the art apps. The mix of University Teachers, Secondary School ones and Historians is a good choice.
Coffee and biscuits during the morning helped to build a warm atmosphere!
It was surprising when I got back to school in September just to find out that the three colleagues who had chosen to do their training summer course in famous UK came back totally disappointed with the experience. The level was low in their courses!
It was a real pride to see how well Greeks can do!
Congrats and thank you for your dedication!
