Culture is our roots; let’s grow together, K229 project

We, as countries, have different cultures which are our roots. However, we have same goals such as growing, being prosperous and leaving a good world to the next generations. One of the way to achieve all these is to know our cultural heritage and make it known to other countries
So, we will focus on cultural issues on 4-5 basis such as handcrafts, dances, clothes, food. Students at first will elaborate on their own cultural heritage and introduce it to partners. At each visit, we will share different aspects of culture and at the end of the project we will have learnt so much thing about each other.
So we are looking for partners for this project. If you are interested, please write to us why you should be a partner of such a project besides a brief introduction of your school. Our students are between 13-18 years old.

Hello! We are writing to you on behalf of Riga Ostvald Secondary school, which is located in the heart of Riga, the capital of Latvia, on the coast of the Baltic sea. Our school provides educational services to more than 1000 students from aged 7-18 who are in the capable hands of more than 70 teachers. We would be more than happy to take part in the project as we consider we have a lot to offer and share. We live in a relatively young multicultural country with various customs and traditions, loads of things to see and do. The country is famous for its unique song and dance festival. It would be interesting for us to explore how all cultural traditions are reflected in clothes. What is more, Latvians are very skillful in making handicrafts and using natural materials such as wood, amber, reeds. In our view, all participants of the project might benefit from the insight into Latvian national cuisine and will find themselves spoilt for choice. Hello, dear friends! We are an Italian school located in a small town in the countryside 20 minutes by train from Milan. We will finish two projects (European strategic partnerships, KA2) in June and we would like to continue our international experience... it really changed our students' way of thinking and the younger ones, who didn't participate to the last projects, really want to be part of a new one. Our students are aged 13. The teacher staff is reliable and open-minded. We live in a period of closed mindedness in our society and we think it's really important to work against this. Let us know if you are interested! Hugs, Laura (laura.tagliaferri@lodisecondo.com)

Dear friend, We are teachers of a school in Valencia, a city in Spain located near to the Mediterranean. It is a city with a great artistic and cultural heritage and one of the most visited cities in Spain by tourists. Its temperate climate, its beaches, its gastronomy and its artistic and cultural heritage make it a very attractive city. At the same time, Spain is a country with many cultural differences among its inhabitants, which means that it is also a very attractive country to know and offers many possibilities to carry out activities with our students. Our school is located in a neighborhood close to the beach, a very characteristic neighborhood within the city of Valencia, with its own traditions and artistic manifestations. We have students from 3 years to 18 years and we are working to improve and implement new teaching and learning methodologies. That’s why we are going to do a KA1 in Belgium, a jobshadowing to observe how they work in the Future classroom. We are implementing project work and cooperative learning because we believe that it is better for our students and that they acquire skills that they will need in the future. So, we are very interested in collaborating and participating in your project because, on the one hand, we consider it’s very important to know other ways of life and other cultures. That helps to open the minds of our students and improve empathy, respect and tolerance, necessary values in our society today. On the other hand, we are willing to collaborate and work with enthusiasm in the activities and topics that you propose. We can also work the most important monuments, make videos that can serve as a travel guide, make videoconferences among students to exchange experiences ... We are willing to contribute what is necessary for the project to be carried out and the students and Teachers can enjoy the work we do. We are also open to any suggestions. If you need more information about our school, we leave you a link: https://pmariagrao.org/ We hope to be part of your project I’m looking forward to hear from you

Good afternoon, My name is Jeremy Buck, I am a social sciences and languages teacher for teenagers of the INS Vallvera in Salt, Girona (Spain), and also a newcomer on this wonderful website. We are looking for some partners to open an Erasmus+ KA2 exchange. Our idea is to work on the issues of diversity, intercultural education, democracy and human rights. Our students are from several national and cultural backgrounds, which makes our school especially interesting. Also, they all share a humble socioeconomic background, which makes us teachers struggle for some funding and opportunities to enhance their learning. I just hope to hear from you soon. Hello! My name is Cesira Rumori.I am the representative of the Department of Languages of the school Exchange committee, the referent for the Internationalization and the contact person for European programs in a Secondary School situated in Viterbo, Italy. The school is a Human Sciences High School and Musical High School “Santa Rosa da Viterbo”. It is only 70 Km far from Rome and is one of the most beautiful Middle Age towns in Italy, with its famous, original, intact medieval district “San Pellegrino”, its ancient walls surrounding the old town, its elegant and well-known fountains, squares, churches and palaces. Originally and for a long time the school was the training centre for Primary and Elementary school teachers. Nowadays it offers three main courses: Human Sciences also with the social economic option and Musical. After graduation students may choose any university Departments and, specifically, they get a basic formation for both social professions like nurses, psychotherapists, socio-cultural operators, psychologists and all the professions connected to music. Human Sciences High School also provides the opportunity to choose the social economic option where school subjects like law studies, an extra modern foreign language, traditional Social Studies (Pedagogy, Sociology, Philosophy, Antropology) are studied. The aim of the school is to improve the mastering of the languages (English, French and Spanish and lately Chinese). We have a lot of experience in the field of European programs, including Etwinning, Erasmus Plus Partnership and Mobility projects and Comenius. The school has also organized Stages in Ireland and England and twinning projects with other European countries such as Germany. As far as the Musical High School is concerned, the school has recently managed to start a twinning with Serbia exclusively addressed to its musical students. Taking into account the main points of your projects we think they are suitable to our interests and educational needs. We would be very pleased to join your project and contribute to its success.

...too late? Hello! Your project is really interesting. If you're still looking for a partner you can contact us sending an email to genyfoti67@gmail.com Here some information about our school. ISTITUTO DI ISTRUZIONE SUPERIORE “CAMINITI - TRIMARCHI” is made up of four different educational paths: classical studies, scientific studies, professional and languages studies, with a total student population of about 1,200 pupils (aged 13-19) . The School operates in the North-Eastern Sicily in a territory which includes several towns and villages in the province of Messina (from Scaletta to Giardini Naxos and Francavilla di Sicilia), with different cultural, social and economic features. The area spans from the sea to the valleys of Nisi, Agrò and Alcantara. In this context, the school institution has been representing for years a cultural reference of major importance, whose primary purpose is educational. The school is also engaged in a broader mission, though, bound to the labour market, which is, today more than ever, competitive and projected towards internationalization, information technology and globalization. The school also encourages team and project work among the teachers as well as among the students. Behind every single project there is a team of teachers and students who plan, interact and share ideas, trying to establish a culture of collaboration and a dynamic learning environment. Our experience includes: - Project work: The National Night of Classical Studies High School and The Spring Symposium to preserve the Greek and Latin Heritage. The Youth for Space Challenge – ODYSSEUS II, Health Education, Citizenship, SCHOOL-WORK alternance (introduce the students to the world of work), Theatre and Music, Archeology Laboratory, Environmental Education and Sport, Cultural and literary meetings. - Language stages to Malta, Great Britain, Dublin, France and other European Countries. - E-twinning projects with other European schools (Ulysses still travels; The Genius Loci) - Local and National Competitions: Certamina (Latin), Maths Games, Science and Journalism. - We have no experience in EU project Coordination. In the recent past we have submitted another Erasmus project, which has been selected
