Let’s Unite Under the umbrella of folk songs; Italy, Turkey,Croatia and Romania look for more partners

Each counrty has its folk songs, the stories behind those songs and the folk dances accompany most of those songs. All of these reflect our values and cultural properties. However, unfortunately, most of our students forget those songs and those values. We want to remind them and share those songs with you. We want to bring our students with yours together under the umbrella of folk songs. We want to hear your folk rhtyms and maybe watch your folk dances if you want to display to all our partners.
So, the main goal of this project is to make the students aware of not only their own values but also s the values of other European nations and to focus on the shared European values regardless of nationality. Our way will be folk songs.
Our school is in Adana, a city at the south coast of Turkey. It has got nearly 450 students and 35 teachers. We accept our students according to the result of a national exam so they aretalented and eager as regards many different subjects and social activites. We completed a project about ecotourism with 8 partners. So we have experience, and eagerness to begin a new one. We have now a partner from Romania, Italy and Croatia
If you want to share this colorful process with us,please contact with us
best wishes

Dear colleague, My name is Joy Nteli and I am a social science teacher in the 3rd High School of Thebes, Greece. It is a school of about 120 students and very active in taking part in various projects. Our historical city lies in between Athens and Delphi. We are really interested in your project idea and we are willing to take part in it. Since we talk about folk dances you can watch this video from a well known show in National Greek TV that has a tribute to our city and its folk songs and dances (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_GSWzbwJq1c). This year our school is also running KA1 Erasmus+ project. If you wish to work with us you can contact me in my mail: hnteli@hotmail.com. Looking forward to hearing from you soon. Best regards, Joy

ESCOLA BÁSICA E SECUNDÁRIA GONÇALVES ZARCO is a post elementary and secondary school. In 1989 did it settle in its own building and began to cater for its own students. Today it has about 1520 students in the day time, whose age ranges from 10 to young adults and about 130 adult students who attend night classes. Its curriculum offerings cover several levels within the regular compulsory school attendance (from 5th to the 12th grade), but it also offers vocational courses and night classes for adults. The majority of its students apply for general studies degrees. But recently, considering that the school is located in an economically disadvantaged suburban area of Funchal city (the great majority of its students come from low-income families, and most parents have only completed elementary school levels), the school has been paying greater attention to the vocational guidance of its students and started to develop more vocational training courses, according to the guidelines of its Educational Project. Most of the students, who attend these technical degrees, are economically disadvantaged, and because of that they are supported and followed by social welfare. The School’s Educational Project also diagnosed that it needed to improve pupils’ learning outcomes, establish school attendance strategies and implement measures to prevent the dropping out of students who leave school even before they complete their opportunities for later job search. We have a wonderful and very active music group, in which one of our teachers is a well known singer and composer. She is also a Maestro for two orchestral .If you find us a good partner please get in touch! carlachatterley@gmail.com

Hello, My name is Marta. I’m an English and PE teacher and the Coordinator of the Educational Projects of my school. I found the proposal you made www.schooleducationgateway.eu as extremely interesting. It looks like a great opportunity for a successful project. So, perhaps you will consider the contribution of a hard-working partner from Slovakia to this success... My school is a secondary school in Secovce, near Košice - the second largest city in Slovakia . We consider the participation in an Erasmus +/KA2 Schools Strategic Partnership as being a great opportunity for the students. We have almost 550 students level (6 -14 years) who study subjects like English, German, Russian, Music, Art, IT, PE etc.. Up to now we have involved in our European project students from all these classes and we were very satisfied by their enthusiastic work and friendly attitude. We have gained a good experience (as a partner ) in European program Comenius partnerships, which means a lot of wonderful memories, a lot of friends and a lot of things learnt. You can transform this experience in a very helpful asset for your project! I am looking forward to give you more information on my school. My email address is marta.kacunova@gmail.com

Hello, my name is Zoltán. I come from a small Slovakian village called Hrušov. I am really interested in your idea for the Erasmus programme. I am a History teacher and the headmaster of our elementary school. There are 100 pupils at our school aged between 6 - 15. I found your project very interesting and would like to participate in it. Both our country and our village have very rich traditions in folk songs and dances and it would really excite us to work with them, present and compare them to the traditions of our neighbours. My email address is z.brezovsky@post.sk. We prefer to be an Erasmus partner school, not a coordinator school. Yours sincerely, Zoltán Brezovský
