An Umbrella Of Folk Songs; Italy, Croatia,Romania and Turkey look for more partners

Each counrty has its folk songs, the stories behind those songs and the folk dances accompany most of those songs. All of these reflect our values and cultural properties. However, unfortunately, most of our students forget those songs and those values. We want to remind them and share those songs with you. We want to bring our students with yours together under the umbrella of folk songs. We want to hear your folk rhtyms and maybe watch your folk dances if you want to display to all our partners.
So, the main goal of this project is to make the students aware of not only their own values but also s the values of other European nations and to focus on the shared European values regardless of nationality. Our way will be folk songs.
Our school is in Adana, a city at the south coast of Turkey. It has got nearly 450 students and 35 teachers. We accept our students according to the result of a national exam so they aretalented and eager as regards many different subjects and social activites. We completed a project about ecotourism with 8 partners. So we have experience, and eagerness to begin a new one. We have now a partner from Romania.
If you want to share this colorful process with us,please contact with us
best wishes
Burçak

Hello, My name is Joy Nteli and I am a social science teacher in the 3rd High School of Thebes, Greece. It is a school of about 120 students but very active in taking part in various projects. Our historical city lies in between Athens and Delphi. We are really interested in your project idea and we are willing to take part in it. Since we talk about folk dances you can watch this video from a well known show in National Greek TV that has a tribute to our city and its folk songs and dances (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_GSWzbwJq1c). This year our school is also running KA1 Erasmus+ project. If you wish to work with us you can contact me in my mail: hnteli@hotmail.com. Hope to hearing from you soon. Best regards, Joy Nteli

Morning colleagues, My name is Raquel and I teach English at a secondary school in south Spain. I just read the information about your project and it sounds great. We are not a big school, we have about 300 students. The place we live in is very connected to folk music, such as flamenco, romance songs (copla)... at the same time this music has much to do with historical roots and culture. We work with a bilingual Project which means some of our subjects are taught in English. But, we have many students who belong to a minority group with a high dropout rate. But, at the same time they are very fond of flamenco music. So, we consider this Project can motivate them to learn English in order to exhange their culture to other European students. Hope to hear from you soon. Kind regards, Raquel Salas Salas

When I begin to plan this project, I have thought that this will be a way for our students not just to learn different cultures but also for an encouragement to improve their English. So, I really like your ideas Can you please give more information about your school ( maybe its website ) and your city also? My email is bozcanli@gmail.com With best wishes Burçak
