Travelling Through Text: Exploring European Heritage
We are a Spanish state primary school (ages 3-12) in the city of Valladolid looking for partners to work on a new KA2 project starting in 2018. Our project deals with how to take advantage of learning with holistic approach where core skills are taught in context. Our school is involved in the British Council/MEC Integrated Curriculum, where students learn English as an integrated language through various school subjects. Students start leaning English at the age of three with an increased amount of class time in this language.
Our aim is to promote the acquistion and learning of two languages through an integrated content based curriculum and to encourage awareness of the diversity of both cultures.
Besides as 2018 is the year of European Cultural Heritage we wish to bring heritage to life in the classroom using the central theme of tourism and heritage in Europe. To do this we will use different text types, songs adverts, guides, mass media (both oral and written). At the same time we hope to raise discussion on the topic of exisiting stereotypes.
We will act as coordinators looking for responsible partners willing to share experiences of integrated learning techniques preferably applied to students ages 3-12.
