Introducing games in the classrooms can be exciting and challenging for educators. As technology changes and advances, so do the games and the tools that are available for teachers. Therefore, it is important also to recognize the “human factor” in games, and that the they are not necessarily about the tools, but the way we use it. This is often the case with the games in the classrooms, and how to best get the benefits of them for both teachers and students.

Daniela Hau started working as a secondary school teacher in 2006 for business management, marketing and communication technologies. Later on, she did her second master degree in MediaGamePedagogy and joined the working group for media and information literacy at the Luxembourgish Ministry of Education (Service de Coordination de la Recherche et de l’Innovation pédagogiques et technologiques (SCRIPT) – division of innovation). Her research and working interests include media literacy and digital game-based learning - with a strong focus on practical implications of the in-class-deployment. She is also a member of the ET2020 working group “Digital Education: Learning, Teaching and Assessment".
Annamaria Lisotti is a Scientix Ambassador, and a math and physics teacher at high school in Pavullo, Italy. She received her PhD degree in 2013 at the Physics and Nanoscience Graduate School of Modena University. Annamaria is interested in science education and innovation and that has brought her to experiment in the classroom with serious gaming. Annamaria was also one of the teachers piloting the use of Variant Limits for European Schoolnet in 2018. Challenges and gaming approaches are constantly part of her didactics. Annamaria is one of the organizers of Solarmobil Italy; a school contest for solardriven car models.
