Đurđevac Vocational School

Dr. Ivana Kranjčeva 5, Đurđevac, Chorvatsko

The modern high school education in Đurđevac started in 1964 by the establishment of the Gymnasium. Due to the collapse of interest in the grammar school program and the needs of the economy, in 1971 was introduced the education for craft professions in mechanical engineering, woodworking and electrical engineering. These were the three-year professions of car mechanics, carpenters and electronics. By introducing the reform in 1977, the final grade of Gymnasium ends and we have a general secondary school with two grades of preparatory and final grade.
In the mid-80s, the introduction of new hairdressing programs started. In 1993, the Decision of the Assembly of the Municipality of Đurđevac resulted in the establishment of the Đurđevac Vocational School and the Gymnasium Dr. Ivana Kranjčeva Đurđevac. The Đurđevac Vocational School then has 40 employees and takes over management assets.
Realizing that the development of society and technology requires adjustment, we turn to the needs of the economy, and to the wishes of students and parents.
New professions are introduced, the enrollment structure changes, so today, over 40% of our students are trained for technical programs in four-year professions.
Today we have 31 departments with 772 students in the following professions: electronics technician, computing technician, mechatronics technician, economist, mechanic, automotive, heating and air conditioning technician, automobile mechanic, automotive technician, mechanic electronics, carpenter, chef, waiter, motor vehicle driver , a hairdresser, a beautician and a chef and a pastry maker.
Along with the increase in the number of pupils, we hire new employees so that the Đurđevac Vocational School today employs 75 people.
We achieve significant results at county and state competitions.
All this proves the extraordinary effort of teachers and other employees to improve the quality of education.
